The EGM02 generates four sub-carriers (image, sound, color and lateral band), which are the main components of a TV signal, either in IF, VHF or UHF bands. The level of every sub-carrier is ajustable by step of 0.5 dB from the keyboard.

Associated to a spectrum analyser, it allows to measure the main RF characteristics of a transposer in UHF and VHF bands such as linearity, transmodulation, differential gain, AGC efficiency, sensibility, signal/noise ratio.

The measurement sequences can be automated through the build-in IEEE 488 (HPIB/GPIB) interface.

Thanks to its sturdiness and its easy setting-up, it can be used as well for on-site application as for laboratory application.
